I wanted inspiration for an outfit that I would wear to these local hip-hop showcases. I'm really shades of grey and multi-toned earthtones at the moment. I couldn't think of anything that came in those colors all at once. I decided to put those hues togather myself, coming up with this bohemian stret style look pictured. I really like this outfit it's ability to be fashionable but comfortable at the same time. Hightop sperrys are really hot right now and with the boys t-shirt I think i could go to any music related event in this. I also love the attached jewelry, making this look more girly and femme. By adding a great functionable bag, it's easier to understand that a blogger needs her tools. Heels are dead for me sometimes, opting for more of a casual look at the music fest and events, makes it easier for me to network and move around.
I recently saw two independent films which inspired me to create this set. The first film showcased what I saw as a Boy George lifestyle, I was inspired by the hat, the bowties, and the theater like quality of the movie's costumes. The second film showcased a retro street style, with huge earrings, the 70's & 80's clear glasses with the shoes that I always thought were for old women, but somehow a designer in our generation made a cute modern updated pair. I just wanted to display the inspirations from these two films in the form of fashion. Two great outfit ideas.
